Happy New Year Everyone!

Our next crop will be on Sunday 13th January in Monkspath.

The class is based on a Pagemaps sketch and features the lovely Winter Wonderland papers by My Minds Eye:

apologies for the poor picture quality (blame the dreary weather!) - the layout looks a lot better in real life!

For the layout you will need two 6"x4" portait pictures and up to seven 3"x3" photos (I have only used three on my layout and filled the rest of the spaces with patterned paper).

Cost of the class is £5.

Hope you all have a great New Year.

New workshops

Here are the latest workshops:

Brick Wall card
Monday 22nd October 2012
2 hour workshop – 10.00 – 12.00
Cost £10

This delightful card will be a pleasure to send and receive.  To create the background you will be using an embossing folder and distress inks.  The door is also made from a die, inked and then adorned with a T!m Holtz metal wreath from his NOEL embellishment set.  The door can then be opened to reveal a wonderful homely scene inside – on this card I have used a Christmas Tree from T!m Holtz’s new set of Christmas stamps.

Snowflake tag
Monday 5th November 2012
2 hour workshop – 10.00 – 12.00
Cost £10
This wonderful tag uses a variety of techniques including embossing, paper folding, stamping and inking.  You will be creating the background using a marbled stains effect and making a matching ribbon to tie on the top of the tag.  To finish the tag off beautifully you will be supplied with two metal embellishments from T!m Holtz Christmas collections and also get to construct two snowflakes using his new 3D snowflake die from sizzix.

Sewing Cake Stand
Monday 19th November 2012
2 hour workshop – 10.00 – 12.00
Cost £15

This adorable cake stand will make a lovely feature in any room.  Made up from Wendy Vecchi Art Parts and grungepaper, you will have a great morning colouring card and fabric and building up your cake stand.

The piece is wonderfully finished off with a gorgeous Wendy Vecchi sewing machine embellishment:

Sorry for the late post.  The crop is on as normal, however, we have a very limited number of places at the new venue.  Please bear with us while we sort out bookings.  I'm afraid that we may have to disappoint a few people this month as I think it will be very busy.

Anyway, here is this month's sketch challenge.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Happy Easter All!

We have an important announcement to share with you.

The crop will  be making a permanent move to Shelly Farm Community Centre in Monkspath.  The premises are more airy and light than Cheswick Green and it's only a 5 minute drive away so hopefully won't cause any inconvenience.

For those with satnav the postcode is B90 4EH

The date unfortunately has to change for this month from 22nd April to 29th April.  We're sorry the inconvience but we'll be back on track from month.

This month's class uses the gorgeous Follow your Heart papers from My Mind's Eye.  When I finally managed to cut into those lovely papers, I used snippets here and there, so you'll have plenty to play with after.

If you would like to book the class, just email us at the usual address.  The class costs £5.

The April challenge sketch:

The sketch comes from Pagemaps.  For more pagemaps and inspiration, visit Pagemaps.

Look forward to seeing you all.

March Crop

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that our next crop is back at our usual hall in Cheswick Green.

Here is a picture of the class I will be doing:

Just a little bit of distressing and cutting out on this one.  If you have brown and blue inks please bring them with you.

Hidden behind the photo mat is a tag:

which can be embellished as much or as little as you like - this is just a plain version.

If you would like to book a space or class please email us.

Thanks

March Challenge

I'm off at the weekend for some scrapping so I thought I would sort out this month's sketch.

I found this great sketch on the Basic Grey blog and pinned it in Pinterest for safe keeping.

Remember you can adapt the sketch to suit your layout and switch things around a bit.  I was asked last time if you had to use the elements that were on the sketch.  The answer is no.  You can switch these hearts for stars for example.

Back soon with pictures of the class by Nicki.

February Class

This month's class features the most LUSH products from My Mind's Eye and Jenni Bowlin. The class is super-easy and super-quick, but the results speak for themselves.

The fresh colours of Lime Twist will work for so many themes, girls or boys.

I used a 6x4 landscape photo, but we can flip things around a little to accomodate a portrait photo.

The cost of this class is £8 but you recieve the 3 double-sided papers (including the die-cut paper), Lime Twist Cardstock Stickers, Cloud Die-cut, Jenni Bowlin Flag stickers as well as a few little pieces from me.

Please pre-book your class as they are limited.

See you at the crop

February Crop

Next month the crop is at a new location which is not far from our normal venue.
Note that the map is not to scale and is only a guideline!  Click on the map for a larger view.
For your satnav the address for the school next door is

Farmhouse Way, Shirley, Solihull, B90 4EH.

The centre is in the top left corner as you approach from the road.  There are a dozen parking spaces directly outside and more in the main car park.  If you have to leave early, please use large car park. Please feel free to double park in the small one.

As it is a new venue, please bear with us.  We'll have to sort out the table arrangement.

February Challenge

This month's sketch is taken from Once Upon a Sketch:

Check out their lovely DT inspiration here.
Details about February's class will follow.

Thanks for popping in.

January Challenge

Happy New Year to one and all!  I hope that your festive season has been peaceful.

This month, I thought we'd tackle a slightly different challenge.  If you haven't already tried it, you shop pop along to the Color Room.  It's a great challenge and inspiration site with loads of fabulous artists on their design team.

I picked out a challenge from the archives for this month's challenge.

See the challenge colour details here.

I had a quick look in the gallery and loved this example layout by Amelia Khalik

For our challenge, please use the sketch to create either a scrapbook layout or card.  The colour element is OPTIONAL. An extra challenge if you like!

As usual, we'll have a winner who will receive a small prize from our goodie box.

Look forward to seeing you all.
